Signs It’s Time for a New Air Conditioner

Here are some signs that it’s time to consider a new AC installation:

Age: The average lifespan of a central air conditioner is about 10 to 20 years. If your unit is nearing or has surpassed this age, it’s likely running inefficiently and may be more prone to breakdowns.
Frequent breakdowns: If you’re constantly calling for repairs, those costs can add up quickly to the price of a new unit. Investing in a reliable system can save you money in the long run.
High energy bills: A failing AC unit has to work harder to cool your home, resulting in a significant increase in your monthly energy bills. A new, energy-efficient model can drastically reduce these costs.
Strange noises or odors: Grinding, squealing or clanking noises are never a good sign. Musty or foul odors can also indicate the presence of mold or mildew inside your unit.
